How to Condition Yourself Mentally in an Emergency

Many people who have gone through an emergency situation find that they will react in one of two ways. Either they will be frozen in time and not able to take any action because of fear or hysteria or they will know precisely what they need to do because they've planned, prepared and conditioned themselves mentally to handle the situation.

In our daily life, emergencies come in many different forms. First, natural disasters - storms, earthquakes or fires;then, accidents and sudden serious illness ; finally, economic emergencies-lost jobs or business failure.

Normally, some people who are in the event of an emergency situation will not able to take any action because of fear while others will know precisely what they need to do. I guess you will not hesitate to choose to be the second type. Thus, you need to plan, prepare and then you can condition yourselves mentally to handle the situation.

But what you should do when you are in the event of an emergency situation?

In the first place, make a list of those types of potential emergency situations that you might encounter.

Then, sort list items into two categories, those things that you can do something about, and those that cannot. Once you have made such a list , you should make advance planning and preparation to make sure you can adopt to successful action steps when you go through an emergency situation .

The final stage is to practice. You can volunteer to be a part of your community emergency practice, which will help you to remain calm in the event of a real event.
